
*Education
Alan Fleming-Baird studied with composers Sir John Tavener and Simon Bainbridge before entering the Royal College of Music and, while there, studied; composition with Jeremy Dale Roberts, piano with Ian Lake and conducting with Neil Thompson and took part in seminars with Sir Peter Maxwell Davies, George Benjamin, Sir Richard Rodney Bennett and Brian Eno.

His music has been performed by, amongst others the; Sinfonia of London, London Festival Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, Kensington Philharmonic Orchestra, Composer's Ensemble, Belca Quartet, Edinburgh Quartet, Paragon Ensemble, Psappha, Scottish Philharmonic Orchestra, Croft Ensemble, City of Birmingham Choir, Trinity Church Choir, Morley College Choir as well as numerous amateur groups and musicians.
Some of the venues where his work have received their first performances include Purcell Room, South Bank Centre, Royal Festival Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall, The Victoria & Albert Museum, St John's Smith Square, Reid Concert Hall, Scottish Gallery of Modern Art, Institute of Contemporary Arts(ICA), Duke's Hall, Hackney Empire, Union Chapel Concert Hall (Islington) and in the festivals of Spitalfields, City of London, Brighton and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals.

*Teaching
Teaching posts have included classroom teaching at Collingham College, London, tutor at Westminster Tutors, London and lecturer in adult music education at Chelsea and Westminster College, as well as a peripatetic piano teaching post at the London Oratory School.
Currently Alan is a choir master and organist for Trinity Church of Scotland.
